Operational Distortion

An experiment in Photogrammetry

The Basic form of a shoe is derived through various operations of twisting, scaling, rotating and repetition. A form that is derivative of the shoe is created through this process. A cage like enclosing structure is further derived. The Boolean split of this cage with a solid gives a void within the solid. The outline of the void is used as 2D reference for the second structure. The two structures are opposing in their form.

One is an enclosed structure made of multiple rigid faces, the other, with multiple voids made of curvilinear surfaces. Both structures provide varying degrees of climbing difficulty making it accessible to more people. A person climbing the cage like structure can either choose the linear path or may choose to wind away from the straight path at various intervals. The curvilinear structure has 4 walls of varying difficulty depending on the user proficiency.
